How My Library Card Works
Lending Periods
- DVDs: 1 week
- Toddler Totes: 1 week
- Magazines: 1 week
- All other items: 3 weeks
Renewal Limits
- All items may be renewed up to 3 times except in these cases:
- The item is a new book
- The item has been requested by someone else and there are less than two copies available for checkout
Total Item Limits per Card
- Resident cards: 50 items
- Taxpayer cards: 50 items
- Fee cards: 50 items
- CARE cards: 25 items from Children’s and/or Young Adult collections
- Basic cards: 10 items
Checkout Limits by Item Type
- Books: 50 maximum
- DVDs: 10 maximum
- Magazines: 10 maximum
- CDs: 10 maximum
- Audiobooks on CD: 10 maximum
- Toddler Totes: 2 maximum
Hold Limits
- Full-service cards: 25 holds
- Basic cards: 10 holds
Daily Fines
- Children’s books: .15 per day +
- All other materials: .25 per day
+ Children 12 and younger may reduce their library fines by $1 for every library program they attend and/or every 30 minutes they read in the library. See Read to Reduce (link to 1.1) for more information.
